Woman Refuses Ambulance Then Gets ARRESTED For Public Intoxication

On 7/13/24 officers with the Des Moines Police Department responded to a call of a woman having a mental breakdown claiming that she needed help. Not much info was given to the police before arriving to the scene. once officers arrived they struggled to figure out what exactly is going on until the suspect friend helps the officers understand that she is in a bad mental state. The officers end up having to take the woman to jail instead of the hospital due to her hostile behavior she was a threat to herself and others and could not be trusted around medical professionals at that time.
