FUTUREPOP: Evolution of a Genre

As the angry, angsty industrial rock of the 1990s began to go stale, a new generation of synth driven dance music rose up in the latter-half of the decade. Called Future Pop, this new wave of artists fused the driving dance beats of EBM with all the passion and humanity of the 1980s New Romantics. This episode of Radio Banzai charts the evolution of the Future Pop genre, starting with its birth in the mid-1990s and following it all the way up to today.
