Rhode Island State representative arrested for DUI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence state Rep. Enrique Sanchez has broken his silence a week after he was taken into custody and charged with driving drunk.

In a social media post Monday evening, Sanchez promised everyone that he would not let what happened get in the way of his responsibilities.

“I love my work and the work I do to help better the lives of all the people of this state,” Sanchez wrote. “I will not let my personal actions become a distraction from the issues that truly matter — the families, businesses, and concerns of my community.”
