Luna Leads Task Force, Claims 'Two Shooters' in JFK Assassination

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R–Fla.), the leader of a new congressional task force dedicated to uncovering "federal secrets," made a bold claim on Tuesday about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, suggesting that there were "two shooters" involved in the tragedy. The task force, which will also explore high-profile cases such as the client list of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, aims to build on efforts from the Trump administration to declassify records surrounding the deaths of JFK, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., and more.

Luna stated that her investigation will begin with a "thorough" look into the circumstances surrounding JFK's assassination on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. The Florida Republican took issue with the widely accepted single-bullet theory of the Warren Commission, which concluded that JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone.

"Based on what I’ve been seeing so far, the initial hearing that was actually held here in Congress was actually faulty in the single-bullet theory,” Luna remarked at a press conference. "I believe that there were two shooters."

While the Warren Commission’s findings have been long contested, it was the 1979 House Select Committee on Assassinations that suggested Kennedy "was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy," fueling ongoing debates. Luna pointed to inconsistencies in the evidence and referenced early FBI reports that raised concerns about the initial autopsy conducted in Bethesda, Maryland.

“The full truth starts with transparency,” Luna said, emphasizing that the new task force will work to reveal the real facts behind the assassination, challenging the mainstream narrative.

The bipartisan task force plans to include key figures in its investigation, such as doctors who were present at the initial JFK assassination, along with members of the various committees that have probed the incident over the years. One of the task force’s goals is to access and review thousands of pages of classified documents related to the JFK assassination before they are made publicly available.

The task force will also examine several other major government-related topics, including unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), unidentified submerged objects (USO), the origins of COVID-19, and government records on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Luna stressed that the group would collaborate closely with President Trump and his cabinet to bring transparency and restore public trust.

“We will work alongside President Trump and his cabinet members to deliver truth to the American people," she said. "From this moment forward, we will restore trust through transparency.”

This initiative has already garnered attention, with thousands of newly declassified files on the JFK assassination, as well as other significant events, already being released in the wake of Trump's recent executive orders. The FBI alone has reportedly uncovered about 14,000 pages related to the assassination.
