2 Corinthians 18 False Christs and False Gospels

SBC Family,

Tonight in 2 Corinthians Paul is still defending his apostleship against the false apostles that had followed him and now were on his turf. They were deceivers working for the master deceiver, Satan, and influenced by his minions. They were preaching a false Christ and a false gospel, and we will look at some of these so we see how different they are than the real Christ and the real gospel. The third most common teaching in the NT is the dangers of false teaching, so we need to pay close attention to the word. I deal with this every day and I tell you that it is amazing how much of Christianity/Christendom has departed from the real Christ and the real gospel.

Can someone be saved by believing in a false Christ? Why would Satan distort the person of Christ if it was not essential to believe in the real one?
