EA-18G Growler Goes Down in San Diego Bay—Crew Ejects Safely

On the morning of February 12, 2025, a U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler jet crashed into San Diego Bay near Shelter Island during a "go-around" maneuver at Naval Air Station North Island. Both crew members ejected safely before impact and were promptly rescued by a nearby sportfishing vessel, then transferred to a Customs and Border Protection boat. They were taken to a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
