Secret agent 007 James Bond encounters a particularly dangerous villain when he is sent to investigate the megalomaniac Auric Goldfinger. The extremely wealthy villain has hatched a perfidious plan: he wants to contaminate the American gold reserves in Fort Knox with radioactivity, plunge the West into financial chaos and earn billions himself. Goldfinger even manages to get Bond into his power when he launches the attack on Fort Knox, but he celebrates it too soon.
