Parasha Yithro: Exodus 18:1-20:23

God's people are now free of Egypt, but they need to learn how to be free to serve God. Yithro, also known as Jethro and Reuel, is Moses's father-in-law. He watches Moses judge the people from morning until night, but knows this is not what God wants. He tells Moses to share the judging with the people, and teach them how to judge as well. In the last chapter we get God's Ten Commandments.
