I Heard it Through the Grapevine

This is a live recording of the song, "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", performed by Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1969. I remember it well. It was my high school segment of life. The song was originally a Motown hit written by Norman Whitfield and Barret Strong in 1966. The original was typical of Motown in that period, with a quicker pace and prominent vocals, both lead and backup harmonies. Creedence would later record an eleven minute extended version on their 1970 album, "Cosmo's Factory".
