S15E08 - RAID! - Stop Bugging Me Over Hard Drives

Have you ever lost data? Were you a ID 10 T? Probably not, it’s just that life gets in the way and unless we are in enterprise functions, we probably don’t keep our photos, old baby photos, taxes… Oh that’s a big on. Technologies chage. I recently – did not enjoy myself at all – moving from Blu-ray disks to external drives. Since tapes went away, 25/50 GB Blu-rays were the stuff. We have made a lot of progress since I stopped building PCs. Then, as a result of new MB and on-board NVMes – of speed and size – maybe I will buld an array with redundancy. I could still do off-site secure storage in case the house burns dow/blows away – I could lift that day-to-day worry. © 2025 Del Hollow Productions
