These downpours have resulted in significant damage to public infrastructure, schools, and vehicles, some of which were swept away by the current. Approximately 80 people have had to be rescued due to the emergency.

Local authorities are on high alert for the risk of rivers overflowing due to rising water levels. In Rome, as a precautionary measure, access to the Tiber River docks has been closed, and navigation has been suspended.
