Where in the world can you walk out of work for five years and get full pay?Answer – in Stormont Northern Ireland!

Where in the world would you get a £20,000 pay increase for failing to do the job you were elected to do?
Answer - in Stormont Northern Ireland!

250,000 people in Northern Ireland are now registered below the poverty line with adults and children missing meals. We believe that politicians in Stormont are getting free meals at the taxpayer's expense. This needs to be dealt with immediately.

Over 40% of the eligible people in Northern Ireland don't use their vote and more than 30% of those who do are totally disillusioned. Change needed!

The Daisy Hill hospital in Newry and the Downe Hospital in Downpatrick have both been downgraded, in fact the Downe hospital will be downgraded further to become a health hub and not an acute hospital, while the Ulster Hospital is overwhelmed with patients lying in corridors and in the back of ambulances.

This is what happens when you put all our patients in one basket.

Other failings; dealing with fresh and waste water, infrastructure, housing, homelessness, education, mental health, policing, traffic congestion, sectarianism and drug culture.

We are a group of local people, members of U.C.A.N – United Communities Action Network who are totally disillusioned with the present political system.

We are setting up a Citizen’s Assembly to discuss the possibility of a new political system and invite you to come along and share your views. Our first public meeting will be held in Denvir's Hotel, 14-16 English Street, Downpatrick at 3pm, Sunday 23rd February. We look forward to seeing you there.
