Human nature is selfish at its core, as you will come to understand this in your dealings with people throughout your life. Your pursuit to be loved by others can lead to your destruction, as these individuals will love you based on the value you bring them. Expecting anyone to love you for you alone, is nothing more than a fantasy. Self-love is the best love in this cold world, in my humble opinion.
