Episode 580: How did people in the Bible react when they saw God? Part 4
Hello everyone. In tonight's Bible study we take our final look at the holiness of the Most High God, the Almighty, to whom belong praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever, Amen.
Throughout the Old Testament and New Testament scriptures the Lord gives us examples of men whom He determined to give visions of Himself to.
These men were allowed to see the LORD God in His glory yet veiled, for no one can see the LORD God completely unveiled. Remember, He is a consuming fire.
Each of these men were prophets, disciples, and apostles of the Most High God and all were faithfully fulfilling the roles that God had given them to execute.
Each had a unique relationship with God and was very close to the Lord. For example, Abraham was God's friend. Daniel was the only man who has ever lived whereby an angel declared not once but three times that he was greatly beloved by God. Ezekiel is called by the Lord Jesus's "pet" name, Son of Man. John was called the one whom Jesus loved. Isaiah was given a prophetic timeline that stretches from before creation to the new heaven and new earth, the elimination of the possibility of sin and all sinners.
Isn't that awesome! Yes, it is. Yet, despite their relationship with the Holy of Israel in the natural, none of God's creation irrespective of redemption has any possibility of ever seeing God without dying!
Each of these men seen God and each of these men paid the ultimate price for such a privilege. They all died, God killed them with the radiant glory of His holy presence!
Whoa! Exactly!
It would be tragic if the story ended there but it doesn't. Although they died, yet they all still heard God's voice! How? How could that be?
I will let the apostle Paul explain it to you.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
