Conclave and The Brutalist Dominate at the BAFTAs

Pope drama Conclave and immigration epic The Brutalist were the biggest winners at the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday, each securing four major prizes.

Directed by Edward Berger, Conclave made history by winning both Best Film and Best British Film— a feat last achieved by 1917 in 2019. It also claimed Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing.

Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist earned four awards as well, including Best Director. Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his role as Hungarian architect and Holocaust survivor László Tóth. The film also took home Best Original Score and Best Cinematography.

In the acting categories, Mikey Madison won Best Actress for Anora, Kieran Culkin secured Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, and Zoe Saldaña was named Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez.

The ceremony highlighted a diverse range of talent, with both Conclave and The Brutalist emerging as the standout films of the night.
