A$AP Rocky jumps into tearful Rihanna’s arms after being found not guilty in shooting trial

A$AP Rocky was overjoyed after being found not guilty in his shooting trial on Tuesday. The rapper, whose legal name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, immediately rushed to embrace his longtime girlfriend, Rihanna, who was visibly emotional in the courtroom alongside Rocky’s mother and sister.

Rihanna later took to Instagram to express her gratitude, saying, “The glory belongs to God and God alone! Thankful and humbled by his mercy.” She has consistently supported Rocky throughout the trial, even bringing their two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, to court earlier this month.

Rocky had been charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm following an alleged 2021 altercation with former bandmate A$AP Relli. If convicted, he faced up to 24 years in prison. Prosecutors offered him a plea deal that included 180 days in jail, probation, and community service, but he rejected it. His defense attorney, Joe Tacopina, argued that Rocky was carrying a “prop” starter pistol that only shot blanks.

Rocky declined to testify during the trial, and Relli sustained only minor injuries from the incident. Ultimately, the jury’s not guilty verdict cleared him of all charges.
