Struggling in the Economy of Attention: The Decay of Authenticity in Content Creation

In this most recent addition of The Expose,
I open up about some personal experiences, including a recent accident that left me injured and unable to create content the past few months. I then share my frustrations with the current state of content creation.

The reality of being a content creator can be difficult and isolating, especially when algorithms, clickbait, and the exploitation of creators for profit dominate these platforms.

I also touch on the toxic nature of some online communities, the struggle for authenticity in a world where deceit is often rewarded, and my thoughts on how creators should be treated fairly in a system that often overlooks hard work. This video is my personal reflection on the challenges of balancing life, creativity, and mental health in a culture that too often promotes negativity and exploitation.

Finally, I address some recent drama with another (bigger) youtuber. I tried to reach out to him personally about using my original content for profit while taking me out of context and being accusatory. Consciously lying and trying to damage my reputation for no reason. Spreading the narrative that I'm the "gaslighting liar" who will become everything I say I'm against and insinuating that I'm actually grifting the audience I've worked so hard to build against all the censorship and hatred I've faced over the last few years. I reached out to him and he insisted that he likes making money on the video about me and would continue to do so even if his commentary is provably false. Since all he cares about is monetization and not the truth of the situation, I eventually applied for content ID, but was effectively rejected by youtube because (ironically) of how small my channel is. My only option from youtube at that moment was a copyright claim on the video because he used my original work without permission. I can only use the tools available to me within the confines of these platforms. I even chose to give 7 days (in good faith) so we could come to a compromise in private. But he would not compromise by demonetizing the video, taking it down or admitting any fault/misunderstanding at all even though I tried to handle it respectfully.. so I left the claim open and active. The claim was approved. He then retaliated by brigading his huge audience against me.. resulting in tacit threats and objectively deplorable behavior in his community’s Discord. So I thought I would bring it up in this video since it transitions appropriately into a subject I've been wanting to speak on for a while. I've come to understand that he is sadly nothing but a symptom of a more overarching problem that is the Economy of Attention and the slow Death of Authenticity we are experiencing in online spheres.
