MZTV 1674: Christianity Has the Fruit of the Spirit Backward

We almost always think of the nine fruits of the spirit mentioned in Galatians chapter 5 as touching our behavior toward others. I think this is wrong. These effects of God’s spirit within apply first of all to God, secondly to ourselves. Only when holding the right opinions about God can we think of ourselves properly and then properly manifest this fruit toward others.

The question arises: is this fruit listed in any specific order? In other words, does God have a reason for mentioning love first and self-control last? What convinced me of the affirmative was that the first concern of Christianity is listed last here by God, and the one thing that no believer in eternal torment possesses appears first.

You can usually count of Christianity to unwittingly provide clues such as this.
