Part 2 explores attempts to condition these responses by associating environmental stimuli with "sham rage" up to 480 times, yet fails to produce true affective states, suggesting that such reactions remain artificial and unlearned. The film concludes that while the hypothalamus integrates the physical expressions of emotion through efferent pathways, it does not act as a motivational "drive" source or an emotional "center."
