60 kW Vortex Turbines To Unlock the Full Power of Water!

EDA Renovàeis, a renewable energy company based in the Azores , Portugal, is among others producing clean energy thanks to its Francis turbines in the Archipelago.

Willing to take advantage of the full potential of the remaining power of the water at their site, EDA reached out to turbulent to find out what potential lies unexplored within the few meters of height difference remaining in the tailrace of the plant, unsuitable for most technologies.

​Turbulent took this opportunity to install 60 kW of its clean energy in 2 units of 30 kW. The production and installation of the turbines were made in a record time, for a operational plan in December 2024.
