Fans of The Mummy franchise might have reason to celebrate, as speculation is swirling about a potential fourth installment featuring the long-awaited return of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. While Universal has yet to make any announcements, multiple sources indicate that early discussions are taking place regarding a new sequel that would reunite the beloved stars of the original films.

The last proper entry in the franchise, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), saw Fraser’s Rick O’Connell facing off against Jet Li’s resurrected Chinese warlord. However, the absence of Weisz, who was replaced by Maria Bello as Evelyn O’Connell, left many fans disappointed.
