Major Cartels Designated as Foreign Terrorist by the US State Department

Under Secretary Marco Rubio, the State Department has formally labeled a number of well-known gangs and cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The ruling, which was released in the Federal Register, targets organizations that engage in narcotics smuggling, human trafficking, and extreme violence.
