It really all comes down to who was at the Temple Mount first. But the problem is that Islam only came about at 600 AD. While the Jews were in Jerusalem in 1000 BC. And the proof is about 40 feet below the current surface of the city. But the Muslims won't grant permits to dig and provide the proof, because they know it will lose their claims to the ancient temple.
