Backpacking to Wheeler Geological Area

Wheeler Geological Area is a former National Park in Colorado. It is famous for the eroded rock formations. There is both a 4x4 and hiking trail to the formations. I did it as an overnight backpacking trip. The road didn't look so bad but I could see how when wet it would be a problem to drive the steep part near the end. It had been on my CO bucket list for awhile. Glad to finally visit this site. The formation itself sort of materialized out of nowhere. It isn't like the terrain around it at all.
