🗣️What advice from a parent still rings true for you today?⁣
I took a moment to reflect on this, unsure what would come to mind. ⁣
⁣
But then, I heard my late father’s voice so clearly:⁣
"Let them talk, just don’t let it affect you."⁣
⁣
My dad wasn’t a man of many words. He had his flaws, made his share of mistakes, but every now and then, his wisdom hit straight to the heart.⁣
⁣
I remember sharing a personal struggle with him some 30+ years ago. I felt overwhelmed by the things people were saying about me. ⁣
⁣
He listened quietly, then said:⁣
"People will talk—it’s what they do when they have nothing better to focus on. Let them. You’re not like them, and their words are just a way to try and bring you down."⁣
⁣
✨ Let them talk, just don’t let it affect you. ✨⁣
Those words became a mantra for me. ⁣
⁣
They remind me that when people talk about others, it’s rarely about the person they’re speaking of—it’s a reflection of how they see the world and themselves.⁣
⁣
Now, when I face gossip or judgment, I don’t engage.⁣
Instead, I choose to send out light to diffuse the darkness within.⁣
⁣
