Ticino is a piece of Italy, which, due to a strange combination of historical circumstances, ended up being part of Switzerland.

Everything here is reminiscent of the nearby Italian Lombardy: mild climate, architecture, banana palms and olive trees, gardens and orange groves blooming all year round.

Only Italian is spoken here, street musicians perform Italian music and restaurants serve traditional Italian dishes.
