Behold the bombardier beetle, a creature of fierce defense and alchemical prowess, within the family Carabidae. When threatened, it unleashes a fiery burst (a noxious spray, like a fiery breath from the depths of its abdomen, accompanied by a sharp, startling pop).

This defensive symphony is born of a volatile union: hydroquinone and hydrogen peroxide, stored in separate chambers within its body, meet in the "vestibule" (a chamber where catalysts ignite their volatile dance). The reaction builds heat, pushing the mixture to near-boiling, and forcing gas to propel the chemical storm outward. A deadly projectile for any foe, its range wide enough and auto-directional to keep attackers at bay.
