King of Menahem of Israel (2 Kings 15:14-22) A Violent and Wicked Tyrant

King Menahem of Israel gained the throne by violently overthrowing Shallum and committing brutal atrocities against those who opposed him, including the people of Tiphsah. He continued the sinful ways of previous kings, leading Israel in idolatry and rebellion against God. To secure his rule, he paid a heavy tribute to the Assyrian King Pul, which increased Assyrian influence over Israel, and after his death, his son Pekahiah succeeded him.
