Checkout Of The Thrift Find JVC VHS/DVD Combo Video Unit

Well, we took it apart and checked it out. The DVD definitely was not reading (probably a dead laser diode), but the VHS side worked fine - which is mainly what we bought it for. If we can find a transport or replacement diode for the DVD drive, we will fix it later. No issues but we did spot a power transistor that was heating up fairly hot, so parts will probably be ordered to replace that at a later date.
