Administering church discipline to believers who leave Pauline truth.
We only find the gospel that saves a soul today in Paul's letters (1 Cor. 15:3, 4).
Apostle means sent one.
Paul was commanded to be the apostle of Christ to the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13, 15:16; 1 Cor. 9). Our hope is in the Person of Jesus Christ who has done everything to save us.
Paul mentions the result of keeping our instructions pure, and said that some have swerved from grace and left the truth for vain jangling (empty chatter). Desiring to be teachers of Israel's law to the body of Christ. They have no idea what they are talking about or hold to be true.
Paul names the men who are exhibit "A" and "B". These men had "fallen from grace" (Gal. 5:4). Paul had already removed them from the assembly where God's truth is read and taught, that no one else would be affected by their mixed up doctrine (MUD). He put them out where Satan is the god the world follows.
Men blaspheme God when they will not believe what He said in the Bible. God appointed Paul to be the apostle to the body of Christ.
To blaspheme is to teach Christ's earthly ministry as pertaining to the body of Christ, but it is fine to teach Christ's earthly ministry as pertaining to Israel (Rom. 15:8).
Error is like poison. Even a little bit of error muddies the clarity and purity of the truth.
Someone who leaves Paul's doctrine is no longer useful to God. How do we walk in the Spirit and produce godliness (Gal. 5:16, 22, 23)?
We obey our instructions form Paul (Romans to Philemon), but we can learn from all the Bible rightly divided (Rom. 15:4; 2 Tim. 2:15).
When we think the Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John or early Acts are our instructions to us in the body of Christ, then we put ourselves under the Law that activates the sinful flesh.
