The Book of Jonah

Jonah 4

4 And shatters unto Jonah, evil whopping. And burns to him. 2 And prays unto Yehovah, and says, “Ah now, Yehovah, not this my word until my being upon my ground? Upon thus, confronted to flee Tarshish-ward. For known, for You God gracious and merciful, long nostrils, and abundant mercy and sighs upon the evil. 3 And now, Yehovah, take, pray, my soul from me. For good my death from my livings.”

4 And says, Yehovah, doing well burned to you*?

5 And goes out, Jonah, from the city. And sits from east to the city. And makes, to him there, tabernacle. And sits under her in the shade until which sees what becomes in the city. 6 And prepares, Yehovah God, qiqayon+. And ascends from upon to Jonah to become shade upon his head, to deliver to him from his evil. And gladdens Jonah upon the qiqayon, glee whopping. 7 And prepares, the God, worm, in ascending the dawn. And struck the qiqayon, and withers. 8 And is according to irradiating the sun, and prepares God wind east, deafening. And struck, the sun, upon head Jonah. And wraps himself.

And asks, his soul, to death. And says, “Good my death from my livings.”

9 And says, God unto Jonah, “Doing well burned to you* upon the qiqayon?” And says, “Do well burned to me until death.” 10 And says, Yehovah, “You compassionated upon the qiqayon, which not toiled in, and not his grown. That son night became, and son night perished. 11 And I not compassionate upon Nineveh, the city, the whopping, which exist in her, multiplied from two ten myriads# man who not known between his right and his left, and beasts$ abundant.”

*Verse 4: (and elsewhere) essentially, “Is doing good evil to you?”
+Verse 6: (and elsewhere) the state of vomiting vomit
# Verse 11: Two ten, meaning twelve
$ Verse 11: ignorant fools
