Burn: New Beginnings (Character Introduction)

*This is Erus. Once a social worker named Eric Bram, he was a religious man who avoided most of the 9th plague, and the Devoted that came from that plague, by escaping into the wilderness and using that time to grow stronger in his faith. But even isolation and nature are no safety from the arrival of the Old One and the darkness that that ancient evil brings. Eric is finally attacked by one of the Devoted yet finds that while he is now infected his change into just another monster is moving at a much more subtle pace then it ever has for others. This breaks him since Eric was unwavering in his peaceful approach to life, living without the desire to fight as he thought his faith had instructed, a faith which assuredly would protect him since he followed it so diligently. But Eric soon throws that faith away as he decides to just do anything he can to stave off his turn into a mindless drone of evil. If he must be darkness he at least wants control over that darkness, and he seeks out the Old One in order to swear fealty to that creature. The Old One agrees, but since it cannot do much it just bathes Eric in it's blue to keep the 9th plague at bay for even longer. This allows Eric the chance to reach Traul so that Traul...once Eric drinks of his essence...can be made new. Eric becomes the first vampire to rage against all of humanity since before the Old One was first cast out into space. Eric becomes Erus, a willing servant of the dark who, along with Benjamin Hawk, becomes another dutiful Corner for the Old One to command [AI Art]*
