Choose Life and Good – Deut. Chpt. 30

Life is full of choices. Some of our choices are so easy to make that it's dumbfounding when we see someone making the wrong choice. For example, would you rather be free or imprisoned? Would you rather be comfortably warm or freezing to death? What about healthy or sick; wealthy or in abject poverty?

If God offered you the choice between life & good or death & bad, you would choose life & good – I hope, anyway. It's an easy choice. It turns out that life-good and death-bad are actual choices God gives us. They are choices in the spiritual and physical realms. We'll see God give Israel the same choices in today's text. And while common sense dictates Israel choose life and good, we know that common sense doesn't always win the day.
