Suno - The Betrayed Heart's Ballad

In this early experiment, I asked Suno for a typical folk ballad, i.e. the kind of retro song that deals with rather darker subjects than some who tend to look back on our ancestors' times as "the good old days" would tend to expect. In this case, the ballad is about a man who caught his best friend trifling with his wife and slew them both for their misdeeds, and now has moved on to wooing another young lady to be his next wife; y'know, one of those "cheerful" old folk songs. As was all too common at this point, the AI insisted on repeating the last verse and chorus again for no good reason.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
In the valley where the shadows fall
Lived a man with a haunted call;
Found his love in another's arms;
Blood and sorrow, no alarms.

[Verse 2]
I walked home, a heavy tread;
Saw the truth, and she was dead.
My best friend, he knew my hand;
Now I seek a woman to understand.

[Chorus]
Oh... A new love... Do you dare
Join a man who's known despair?
For a heart that's pure and kind,
Guide me through the troubled mind.

[Verse 3]
Silent night; no words to say.
Buried secrets carried away.
In the earth, where they do lie,
Every blink, I hear a cry.

[Verse 4]
Lonely road—this path—I've wept.
Dreams of her, they’re hardly kept;
But the sun, it must still rise.
Searching souls won't compromise.

[Chorus]
Oh... A new love... Do you dare
Join a man who's known despair?
For a heart that's pure and kind,
Guide me through the troubled mind.

[Instrumental]

[Repeat Verse 4]
Lonely road—this path—I've wept.
Dreams of her, they’re hardly kept;
But the sun, it must still rise.
Searching souls won't compromise.

[Chorus]
Oh... A new love... Do you dare
Join a man who's known despair?
For a heart that's pure and kind,
Guide me through the troubled mind.
