39-year-old Marcus Leonard Smith was shot and killed by Akron Police following a traffic stop on Monday.
Police say he stole a gun and a car and ended up in Akron where he was born.
He was visiting from Cincinnati when police spotted the vehicle in Akron.
Police say, he opened fire on them after the stop and they returned fire.
