ASIO boss Mike Burgess has revealed that Australian defence personnel have been targeted by overseas spies by planting listening devices in gifts.

Germany will have a new Chancellor - The center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) looks set to win power in Germany. An exit poll released at 6 p.m. local time found that the CDU party is expected to be the largest party in the next German parliament, at about 29 percent of the vote.

This means that their leader, Friedrich Merz, will almost certainly become Germany’s next chancellor. Outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz scored only 16% support, 5 out of 6 rejected his party calling it a bitter result. The AFD party scored just shy of 20% with greens netting 13%.
