USCG intercepts 36 migrants near Point Loma.

The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted 36 migrants attempting to illegally enter the country on a 33-foot vessel early Saturday morning, about 7 miles off Point Loma, California.

🇲🇽 30 Mexicans
🇸🇻 2 Salvadorans
🇬🇹 3 Guatemalans
🇨🇴 1 Colombian
🇺🇸 1 U.S. citizen (operator of the vessel)

The boat, which had no navigation lights, was detected by the crew of the Sea Otter, a Coast Guard patrol. The crew, along with members of Customs and Border Protection, boarded the vessel at 2:40 a.m., transferring the migrants to Ballast Point for processing.
