In times past, people thought gain was godliness, and this was refuted by verses of Scripture like 1 Timothy 6:5. Today, in the church, many delusional people think that poverty is godliness. They really believe they are more virtuous for being losers in life and for not seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Many proudly proclaim their mediocrity as a badge of honor, when the reality is that it is a badge of shame and dishonor.
