Charlevoix warns of a scam

The city of Charlevoix is warning of a scam. The scammer calls about a suspicious purchase, a virus, or an account breach, then, transfers you to someone claiming to be a government official or an FTC representative. That person will pressure you to move your money for "protection". The city says not to transfer your money as the scammer controls the account and will steal your cash.
