A COVENANT OF MERCY: THE TRUE PROMISE OF THE RAINBOW

Genesis 9:15-16 New King James Version
15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

I don't know what it is about this particular passage of scripture, but every time I read it, I definitely learn something new. One of the things I learned from this passage of scripture, is that a rainbow never ends. That has Brent Hackett, this morning's devotional writer stated, “In reality, there’s no end to a rainbow.” But Brent also states, that like the rainbow, “God has no beginning or end, and that he reveals his promises to us no matter where we are.”

I think that's why I'm so fascinated, as well as deeply touched by the questions from this morning's devotional, and I'd like to share them with you tonight. Please read these questions very carefully, and I pray that you allow God to speak to you through them.

Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that God showed me from this morning scripture, as well as many other verses from God's word, on what the true promise of the rainbow is, and that those promises, that precious covenant, is one of mercy, that we can claim. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I’m gonna echo something that I’ve shared before, because I think it's appropriate now and that is this. I pray that with whatever situation, storm, or trial you may be experiencing, that you continue to keep your eyes on the One who calms them, and that you will allow God to help you reflect His glory to those around you. I especially pray for those who may be struggling with some hardship, loss of someone that they care about, whether it is through death, divorce, or having to go no contact with someone toxic, that you cling to the One whose promises are eternal, faithful, and a reality. I pray that through whatever storm, valley, or trial you are going through, that you look for those rainbows that God has created, and rest in the promises of the ultimate promise keeper, and know that you serve a faithful God who will keep them.
