FORGOTTEN SCI FI TV PRESENTS: "Logan's Run" (1977)

Logan's Run was a short-lived American television series, a spin-off from the 1976 film. The show, which aired in 1977-78, followed Logan and Jessica's escape from a dystopian city where life ends at age 30, as they seek the mythical "Sanctuary". The series, starring Gregory Harrison and Heather Menzies, introduced the android Rem as a new character assisting the fugitives. Despite contributions from notable science fiction writers, including some from Star Trek and one of the novel's authors, the show suffered from low ratings. Changes requested by CBS, including the introduction of city elders, altered the storyline from the film. Ultimately, the show was canceled after 14 episodes, possibly due to inability to match the visuals of hits like Star Wars.
