Tripp Fontaine: Derrick Jaxn 3.0?!?

With the dust barely having settled surrounding what seemed like a meltdown on regarding the popular podcast show "Tonight's Conversation", former panelist and crowd favorite Tripp Fontaine has finally come forward to offer his full reasoning for his departure in mid-tour earlier last month. It is very easy to see how and why Fontaine would be a crowd favorite - he strikes just the right balance of "Neo Soul Smart" - equal parts poetry, being well read on Ta-Nehesi Coates-type books and showing up tall, slender and a bushy "Philly" beard. Fontaine's smooth delivery and more levelheaded presentation during his tenure on Tonight's Conversation marked him out as a voice of reason on the tour. But another major reason for his popularity among the ladies is due to his pandering to them. Tripp may indeed be more literate and intellectual than his peers among Black Love Gurus, but the fact remains - and a broad consensus among Black men online and writ large confirms - that Tripp pretty much does what is standard operating procedure among his ilk, his throwing the brothers a bone every so often notwithstanding. With Tripp now flying under his own flag, many brothers are openly speculating: Will Tripp Fontaine follow in the footsteps of his friend Ace Metaphor, who himself followed in the footsteps of his mentor Derrick Jaxn, to become "Derrick Jaxn 3.0"?
