Back in 1990, the Operation Spanner trial was hot news; a group of gay men arrested after enjoying harmless and consensual SM together. Tim Woodward was one of the four original trustees of the Spanner Trust, set up to raise funds for the defence. This TV interview with David Baddiel was one of Tim’s many media appearances to help publicise the cause. It includes interesting stuff on the nature of sado-masochism and what it should not be criminalised.
