Who Was Jezebel?
This person was a woman.
This person was called Jezebel; however, there is some doubt if this was her actual name.
This person was a self-proclaimed prophetess.
This person had gained a following among some of the members of the church.
The leadership of the church was tolerating her behavior and seemingly had refused to confront or to correct her.
This person was not on Jesus’ good side, and he was not happy with her behavior.
This person and her followers were given an opportunity to repent; however, they did not submit.
The consequences of their disobedience were clearly defined by Jesus. She and her followers would be destroyed.

Characteristics of the Spirit of Jezebel
The spirit of Jezebel is often associated with a woman; however, it can and does work through men as well.
The spirit of Jezebel thrives where leadership is weak. It has been said that Jezebel needs an Ahab. Ahab might have been the king of Israel, but Jezebel was calling the shots.
The Spirit of Jezebel loves leadership positions within the church.
The spirit of Jezebel always teaches some form of false doctrine, which is usually covered covered over with a thin layer of biblical truth.
The spirit of Jezebel is never repentant because it never admits that it was wrong.
