Time is of the essence. On Friday, March 7th, the Liberal Party will conclude its leadership vote, with Mark Carney as a prominent candidate to succeed Justin Trudeau. If Carney secures the leadership, he is poised to become the next Prime Minister of Canada.

Currently, Carney has been appointed as chair of the Liberal Party's Task Force on Economic Growth, a position that does not require an official government appointment. This has raised concerns about transparency, as individuals in such roles are not subject to Canada's public disclosure and conflict of interest laws, potentially contravening parliamentary procedures and protocols.

In response, we have initiated two legal actions:

1. Awareness Campaign: We have drafted a comprehensive letter and created shareable materials for you to send to Members of Parliament, Senators, the RCMP, CSIS, the Governor General, and the House Speaker. This initiative aims to inform officials and the public about potential overreach and to emphasize the legal issues involved, thereby eliminating any claims of "acting in good faith."

2. Federal Court Claim: We are preparing to file a claim in Federal Court challenging the legality of Carney's appointment and actions. While we are finalizing our arguments, we are confident in their legal and factual basis.

With limited time before the leadership vote concludes, it is crucial that we remain focused and united. Immediate action is essential. We can’t guarantee immediate success, but we can do nothing or we can try!
