Dresden before the destruction

Before its destruction in February 1945, Dresden was considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and received the nickname "Florence of the Elbe" because it impressed with its Baroque and classicist architecture, its artistic treasures and its picturesque location on the banks of the Elbe.

It was destroyed once the Second World War ended with a bombing by the Allies (who were "the good guys". "The bad guys" were the other ones) absolutely abject and without any sense or justification. There is a documentary called Hellstorm that shows what that hell was like. It is worth watching if you still believe the official version.
