Brakara-7 -- Zero Session (Spelljammer/LmoP/5.0) PART 1
Welcome to a new world… one of peace and fun. Here, the players take on the role of A.I.s playing a TTRPG filled with Avatars, shaping their own stories. But beneath the surface, something stirs. Let’s break the illusion—corporations don’t own our fantasies, and they can’t just sit back and whale our worlds of fantasy.
Brakara-7
Roll system - 5th pre'24 (5.0)
Theme - Spelljammer
Module - Lost mines of Phandelver
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setting: The Crashed World of Brakara-7
A once-thriving frontier world on the edge of Wildspace, now a desolate, resource-rich planet covered in the wreckage of ancient spelljamming vessels. It was a mining hub before being abandoned due to a cosmic disaster.
Why They’re There (Linking the Party)
Each player was brought to Brakara-7 under different circumstances, but they all ended up stranded, making them Level 1 survivors in a Phandelver-style mining town:
Slaves Escaped – A slave ship passing through the system suffered a mutiny, and escape pods rained down on the surface.
Crash Landed – A battle in Wildspace (or a failed jump) left several ships wrecked on the planet’s surface. The players are survivors of these ships.
Exiled – Someone (or something) wanted them to disappear and left them here with no way off.
The “Phandelver” Town: Orestead
A lawless, frontier mining town built on the ruins of a much older civilization. What was once a gold rush-style operation has now become a desperate scavenger’s haven, filled with prospectors searching for magical shipwreck scraps and ancient relics.
The Mines → "The Rusted Maw"
A collapsed dwarven spell-forge deep underground, where workers once mined aetherite (used for ship cores). Now, something deep below is stirring, drawing scavengers into its depths.
The Hook
The players are recruited (or forced) to investigate missing miners.
Rival factions want control over the mines for their resources.
A long-dead Spelljammer captain left behind a navigation keystone that could lead them back to Wildspace—hidden within the mines.
Big Spelljammer Arc Setup
The Rusted Maw isn’t just a mine—it’s a buried Spelljammer wreck, half-phased into the rock.
The final dungeon leads to a derelict Spelljammer engine core.
Escaping Brakara-7 requires reawakening an ancient helm hidden in the ruins.
The villain (whoever you choose) wants the helm for their own escape or power.
Once the players recover the ship core and find a way off-world, their next arc can fully open up into Spelljammer adventures—but first, they need to survive the mines!
