Jessica Watkins describes the horrible treatment she received in prison

"So, they transferred me from there to the Butler County Jail, where I was severely mistreated. I had a broken arm. I broke my arm on January 6th.

So, they took away all my protections, and my arm was visibly deformed, still green and purple.

So, yeah, they booked me into the Butler County Jail and just took it away. They gave me an ace bandage, and then they took that away too. They said, "Well, we don't think you need anything."

There was no bed, there was nothing. I was literally sleeping on a tray on the floor.

After a couple of days of this, I ended up saying, "Hey, if you don't fix my arm, I'm going to go on a hunger strike."

As soon as I said that, they stripped me naked, threw me into a glass booth, and paraded me through the jail without clothes. It was very humiliating.

Then they put me in this glass booth in the intake area.

And they left me there for four days. The lights never turned off.

They woke me up every 15 minutes and harassed me.

For days, I just cried and cried. I didn't understand why all of this was happening to me.

I was originally charged... I think it was my charges. I think that's why they felt it was okay to treat me this way.

Initially, the FBI charged me with conspiracy to maim police officers.

Eventually, the grand jury reviewed the charges and dismissed them. They said, "No, she didn't do that. There's no evidence she did that."

Grand juries don't usually dismiss charges.

So, it was really astonishing. But, hours after they dismissed those charges, they came in and took me out of that booth.

Then, they transferred me all across the country until I got to the DC prison. It took me about a month."
