GOD is the one who dictates what happens. Rachel wanted a child, yet the LORD Saw the sorrow of Leah, and made her have son's according to the LORDS will. Though that did not sway Jacob's heart from Rachel. The LORD still did as he pleased. GLORY TO OUR LORD GOD.
