DAY SUDDENLY TURNS TO NIGHT (SMOKE COLUMN COLLAPSE.)

This is a cockpit view of what it looks like when the smoke column of a major fire suddenly collapses on you. You can see how the smoke column is collapsing downward, creating a vortex effect. It just looks like you are flying into the sun or a laser beam. It was incredible how suddenly it went dark, and this is why a fire is often referred to as a “black day.” Australia 2019.
